Days 3 & 4

Day 3
I definitely let things go today I did not meditate but I did do my affirmations and I got some exercise dancing around with Rocky and the kids.
I did listen to some more of You are a Badass. I really love how genuine Jen Sincero is.  I will add this to Day 4 as I do not have a lot to say about Day Three other than I did not do all things that I should.

Day 4
I did not meditate first thing but it is 1pm now and I am going to do it now. I chose a Loving Kindness Meditation,, it was surprisingly difficult. Not just having compassion for others but for myself as well. I found that I was more easily distracted than any other meditations. I think part of this is because I did it in the middle of the day instead of at the beginning.
I have found that because my Friday and Saturday night is broken up by retrieving my daughter from work at 3 am ( so I guess Saturday and Sunday morning ) I don’t wake up as early as I do during the week so it is difficult to do the morning routine I have created for myself. This upcoming week I will focus on creating a morning routine for Monday – Friday and then a different one for Saturday and Sunday – possibly doing my am routine after I get back from dropping her off? This will require a little bit more work.

Today I did a personal meditation using a mantra that I learned from Christa Resources LLC several years ago.

I ended up watching the interview Marie Forleo did with Elizabeth Gilbert on youtube It was amazing and super uplifting and just really spoke to me, I was especially drawn to the way they talked about appreciating fear but not letting it control. I know that I have such a hard time with control.

I also listened to 10 minutes of You are a Badass by Jen Sincero which is a great start but I will definitely be listening to more later.

I have been noticing that my screen time has been so intense since being at home that it is crazy so I am trying to listen to things and not spend so much time on the computer or the phone.

We went for a walk so I got some exercise in.  I need to be more aware of doing my SAVERS miracle morning when I first wake up!

Hello and welcome to Drops of Bliss PNW. My name is Shannon and I will be your guide on this skin care and waxing voyage. I received my esthetician license in April, 2007 in Colorado Springs, CO. I moved here to Washington in August and got my WA license in March, 2019. In Colorado I mostly worked with women for Brazilian waxing and facials. Here in Whatcom County I want to continue helping woman achieve their individual skin care and waxing goals. I enjoy incorporating aromatherapy and energy work into my sessions, I am a Reiki Level II practitioner and I love sharing information about aromatherapy and energy healing.

Chakra Bliss Bath Experience

Water has long been touted as a wonderful healing resource, we use it every day for us to cleanse ourselves. With everything that has been happening in 2020 with a global pandemic and stay at home orders I knew that I needed to do something to help people around me to re-center themselves. That was why I felt so called to create a bath experience that would use the cleansing power of water as well as the healing properties of both essential oils and energy healing.  I include a face mask that is tailored to your skin care needs.

If you haven’t heard about chakras before please check out this article by MindBodyGreen here.

Chakra Bliss Bath Experience

I have combined a unique blend of frankincense, lemon, bergamot, and geranium essential oils in a grapeseed carrier oil to help balance 7 of our chakras. This will help to bring balance all areas of your life, you will feel more grounded, less anxious and more connected to your higher power.

Empowered Speech Bath Experience

I have combined this unique blend of clove, orange, and cinnamon essential oils in a grapeseed carrier oil to help women speak their truth. Using a blend of oils that targets our root chakra for grounding our sacral chakra for bringing things to life and the throat chakra for speaking our truths.  As an esthetcian working mainly with women I find that often we are not saying the things we need to or setting our boundaries. This experience is for you if you find that you cannot tell someone how you are feeling, even when you know it is important or if you are feeling that you cannot say no – or yes – to people when you need to.

Instructions for The Experience

  1.     Draw a bath to the temperature that you prefer
  2.     Put 1/3 to 1/2 of the bath oil into the bath – before you get in 🙂
  3.     Place your face mask on your face for x minutes ( please take it off if you find it itchy or burning! )
  4.     Get in your bath and relax, enjoy some self care – I recommend meditating for at least 10 minutes.
  5.     Slowly get out of the bath – pat yourself dry and spritz yourself with the body oil
  6.     Gently rub the bath oil into your skin and as you do this concentrate on feeling healing and balancing energy going through your body.
    • If there is something specific that you are working on imagine whatever it is covered in a golden healing light
  7.     Allow the oil to soak into your skin before you get dressed – or be divine and go to bed naked 😉
  • keep in mind that oil can stain!

Energy Work

What it is and how it can help you

I have always known about energy work, I didn’t know what it was called, but my mom always did what we called “white light” she would visualize a white light and would send it to wherever I have pain and the magic was that it would go away. My mom went on to be attuned to Reiki while we were in England and I loved it. I even remember when I had my wisdom teeth removed the hospital had Reiki as an option for people who were in the hospital and when I asked the nurse told me that a lot of patients stated that they had less pain and feel that they healed quicker.

This has been my experience as well with a myriad of different energy techniques. So I have spent a fair amount of time learning several different ones. I have been attuned to the second level of Reiki. I have learned a little Christa energy some Chakra clearing techniques as well as just figuring things out for myself and trying my own things. I have my own ideas about the science behind it but I will leave that up to those that feel the desire to experiment. What has already been proven by scientists is that meditation is beneficial to your well being and like meditation when you receive Reiki or other energy work you quiet your mind and give it a much needed break.

Pamela Miles is a Reiki Master and practitioner since 1986, she works with the National Institute of Health (NIH), medical schools and hospitals to bring Reiki practice into conventional medicine, explains it very well in her article “How Reiki Helps”  found here  I highly recommend that you read the entire article. She discusses how Reiki triggers our parasympathetic nervous system, which puts our body into rest and digest mode, which is the bodies healing mode. The end result is that you feel rested, relaxed and often times you feel emotionally lighter and in less pain after receiving Reiki or another energy technique.

Thank you all so much for your patience! I will be opening on Tuesday now that Phase 2 has been approved. I am trying to get back to everyone who messages me ASAP and to those whose appointments had to be cancelled due to COVID-19

I am going to start with waxing services and will add skincare back June 30th or sooner, I just do not see how to comply with current standards and provide facial services at this time.

THANKS AGAIN you are all amazing!!

COVID- 19 Update 5/31/20

As we approach Whatcom county’s application to phase 2 I want to let you know what changes will need to be made.

At this time I will be postponing facial services until I can find a resolution to being that close to each other without face coverings. I will continue to honor any Groupons that you may still have past their expiry date. I will continue to do waxing services and will look forward to us working together to follow the states guidelines, listed below.

Client must self-screen for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving at the

service provider location.

o Clients should not plan on bringing other guests with them, unless they are bringing

children younger than 16 for an appointment.

o Clients should advise personal service providers via call, email or text that they have

arrived at the location for the appointment, and are waiting for instructions to enter.

o Clients should put on a facemask prior to leaving the vehicle, and they should be

prepared to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds prior to starting their service.

o The service provider will wear a clean cape or gown, as well as providing each client

with a clean cape or gown. They must be laundered as noted above, or be disposable

and thrown away after a single use.

o Payments for service should be through credit or debit cards or a touchless system to

reduce the handling of cash.

If you do need to use cash I will have a container available but ask that you bring exact change so that I can just disinfect the money at the end of the day.

We are coming towards the end of this friends and I look forward to seeing each and everyone of you back soon!!

COVID-19 Wish I was opening for Biz Update

Hey everyone! Unfortunately I will NOT be able to open on the 2nd as I had planned. Gov. Inslee announced yesterday that we are not moving into Phase 2 yet and we do not have a date certain goals have to be met and sadly we have not met them yet.

You can find more information on the Whatcom County site HERE

Day 5 +

Well that ended quickly 🙂

I started with a bang but then quickly got side tracked as I was waking up later and later and I needed to let the dog out and basically let life live me instead of me living life.

A couple great things though. I attended a workshop on comparative tarot that was facilitated by Amethyst Mahoney of Spiritual Badass University and that brought back to light that I love all things spiritual. It reminded me that I want to be doing Reiki and readings and have crystals in my life and live and attract people that won’t judge that.

In order to actually follow through on this whole Miracle Morning thing; I think that I need to go a little slower I had been waking up much earlier and I think I need to get back to that and then add things slowly.

So my plan is to make sure that I meditate every day and that I wake up by 5:45 am Monday – Friday and write about it. I am aware that journaling and brain dumping are amazingly useful tools in life so that is my commitment for the rest of the week, April 28th – May 1st, I will meditate and I will write something down, either in an actual journal or here online.

Anyone who is reading this I appreciate you I hope that you are getting something out of this!

During my Silence today I did a Chakra meditation. It made me realize that I need to write about balancing the chakras, so I will start working on that.
I need to remember to do my Affirmations out loud probably before I leave my room.
I started to create a 5 year vision board on Pinterest and will continue to add to it.
Susi Lodola says, “The first thing and most important one is to understand that your thoughts, feelings and behaviours are all interlinked. Understanding this connection will help you stop that inner voice in your head that stops you from achieving your goals.” She provides 6 tips to help with success and I enjoy most of them; speak outloud in the mirror, and positive affirmation being a few of them. I did have a bit of resistance to # 3 Dress Smartly; I love this idea but clearly need to get some better fitting clothes first because sadly this tends to make me feel more self conscious rather than more confident. I will work on finding an outfit that makes me feel good.

For today I will write down 5 strengths to boost my confidence:

  1.     I am smart.
  2.    I am kind.
  3.    I am funny
  4.     I am an amazing waxer.
  5.     I take care of others.

Journey to Self-Confidence

Ok, so yesterday after I updated you all about my journey to build self confidence I found some articles and books to read. I have not read them yet but this is a few of the ones I plan on reading during my R time the next few days.
Read/Listen You are a Badass by Jen Sincero The Confidence Code by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman The Self-Love experiment by Shannon Kaiser Self-Love workbook for women by Barbara Horseback

A problem that I often have is doing too much at one time, so for now I will focus on the S.A.V.E.R.S. in the morning and reading an article and then starting to create some goals around this.
